Google wants to continue improving its music service. YouTube Music, which is still in full expansion phase, wants to increase the variety of its available content by facilitating the migration of content from other services such as Google Podcasts. While the podcast service through YouTube Music has been available for a few months, it will now also be easier to transfer content from Google Podcasts.
This option, for now, will only be available in the United States, but it is still a statement of intent by Google, as it shows the company’s intention to keep YouTube Music as an important platform within its plans.
YouTube Music and podcasts
YouTube Music, the service with which Google tries to compete with platforms like Spotify, started supporting podcasts this year to expand the variety of content it hosts on its service. Now, through social media, YouTube has stated that, in the United States, Google Podcast users will be able to export their content to the YouTube platform without any problem.
It is known that YouTube Music arrived to compete with Spotify, although, after a few years in the market, it is evident that Spotify continues to lead the streaming music segment. In fact, Spotify is also working on keeping strong by implementing new features such as an AI that prepares playlists for users.
Recent changes on YouTube
YouTube is making many changes lately. This 2023 they have not made any change as relevant as the introduction of YouTube Shorts, but they have worked on the modification of their advertising spaces to be more user-friendly for users who use the platform through the TV, or on how the AI that will improve the user experience will work.
YouTube as a general service is the most influential website in the world, although in the case of YouTube Music, this service has not succeeded, much less, at the same level. However, Google continues to work on offering a competitive service that is capable of enticing users looking for an alternative to Spotify.
