Honda has officially unveiled the prototype for its new electric SUV, the Honda 0, at a recent Formula One event in Tokyo.
This marks the first glimpse of the vehicle, which is set to launch as part of Honda’s innovative “0 Series” lineup, designed to redefine the way we think about electric vehicles.
With a distinct focus on maximizing interior space, the Honda 0 appears boxy but aims to offer more than just transportation; it’s depicted as a “space” for both function and comfort.
Critics Share Mixed Reactions On Honda 0’s Futuristic Minivan Design
Initial reactions to the prototype reveal a mixed bag of opinions, particularly regarding its design. Critics have pointed out that, while the shape seems to be improved from the earlier “Space-Hub” concept—first introduced at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show—the rear end of the vehicle still lacks proportional aesthetics.
Observers have remarked that the SUV resembles a futuristic minivan, raising questions about its visual appeal.
The Honda 0 is expected to hit the North American market next year, where it will be produced at Honda’s EV Hub in Ohio. Following its North America debut, Honda plans to roll out the SUV to other global markets, including Japan and Europe.
In addition to the Honda 0, Honda will expand its electric vehicle offerings with a hybrid model named Prelude, also set to debut later this year.
Honda’s bold move into the electric arena reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. With their unique design philosophy, Honda aims to challenge conventional vehicle aesthetics while maximizing customer value in the EV sector.
As the industry shifts towards more environmentally-responsible options, all eyes will be on Honda’s upcoming models to see how they perform both on the road and in sales.
