What is AI Assistant?

The Adobe Acrobat AI Assistant, also known as AI Assistant, is a tool powered by artificial intelligence designed to facilitate, among other things, the review and analysis of your documents. 

AI Assistant is integrated within Adobe Acrobat and can identify, highlight, and suggest changes in your documents, such as a contract. This way, you can also be sure that you won’t overlook the most important details. 

That said, before we get to work, there are several sections you should keep in mind:

  • The languages: currently, AI Assistant can analyze files in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese.
  • The size: your document cannot exceed 100 MB and must have fewer than 600 pages.
  • Being connected to the Internet: AI features must be enabled within Adobe Acrobat and you must remain online at all times.

Don’t let anything slip away: detect errors, omissions, and much more

One of the biggest challenges we face when reviewing a contract is understanding its content. AI Assistant can scan the document and summarize the most important parts for you, so you always know what you will sign. 

  • To start, open your PDF file with Adobe Acrobat or drag it into the program once it’s open. 
  • Click on the Generative Summary icon, which you will find under the AI Assistant button. If you don’t see it, select All Tools and search for Generative Summary.
  • Select Get Started and wait for Acrobat to work its magic. Soon, you will see a summary generated by the program divided into sections.
  • Click on each section to access the part of your document from where the information was obtained.
  • You can copy the summary by clicking on Copy or Copy the full summary.

As you well know, the manual review of contracts can be very time-consuming, especially regarding lengthy documents. Fortunately, Adobe’s AI features significantly streamline this process. The tool will help you conduct a quick initial review, allowing professionals more time to focus on decision-making and negotiations.

Ask questions and get answers instantly

In addition to summaries, AI Assistant can generate a quick preview of everything your contract contains, which is very important for understanding all the information well. If you still have questions, you can always ask AI Assistant.

  • Like before, open your PDF with Adobe Acrobat or drag the file into the already open program.
  • Select the AI Assistant button located in the upper right corner.
  • Doing so will show a small summary of your document and, further down, a text box. That is where you will need to write your questions.
  • Formulate your questions and press the Submit button. You can also press the Enter key on your keyboard. Soon, you will see your answers.

As an alternative, AI Assistant will offer several question suggestions you can ask within the program. Acrobat keeps your interactions, even if you close the program, so you can always check your history with the file when you open it from your Recent list.

Accessibility and Collaboration

Adobe Acrobat has collaboration tools, such as link creation. With the help of AI Assistant, this collaboration becomes more efficient and allows all involved to access the summaries generated by AI and similar features.

From the Share button, located next to the AI Assistant button, you can generate a link to give users access to the PDF. You can also share the document via email or through other applications (Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, Zoom, etc.).
