Instagram continues to be updated with new features on all fronts. The one that comes now may not be important on paper, but it will certainly give a lot of play, as it enriches the interactivity between users: we can now respond with GIFs on the social network.

“But this was already possible, wasn’t it”. Indeed, yes it could be done in Instagram stories, but not in photo and video posts as such. So the key is that you can now reply inside the comment box with these animated images.

To do this, all we have to do is enter the publication in question. Once there, there is not much mystery: to the right of the box where we write comments there is an icon that says “GIF”. It’s as easy and simple as that.

The animated images that appear in the catalog are taken from GIPHY’s GIF bank. We have to type what we want to search for as clearly and concisely as possible. Our recommendation, as it happens on Twitter, is that you also type what you are looking for in English. The reason is as clear as that the platform has more content in English than in Spanish, so the number of results will be higher. In addition, it is important to use concise keywords, no sentences longer than a novel (this seems trivial, but it is quite common).

It should be noted that we will not only be able to respond with GIFs in the publications, but also to the reels posted by users. In this way, animated images are now part of the responses of absolutely all existing fields.

We’ll have to wait and see what the next big update Meta has in store, but after what we’ve seen with ChatGPT, we don’t rule out that the AI will end up appearing somewhere.
