Xiaomi has officially presented a major wave of new features with the rollout of HyperOS 2.2, the latest version of its operating system for smartphones and tablets. From AI-powered tools to photo and video editing, the update brings enhancements aimed at usability, creativity and connectivity—signaling Xiaomi’s ambition to lead not just in hardware, but in software innovation.

Smarter photo and video editing for flagship users

One of the most talked-about additions is the new anti-glare feature for photo editing, which removes unwanted reflections with a single tap—perfect for correcting shots taken through windows or under harsh lighting. On the video side, editing options that were previously limited to still images are now extended, allowing for greater personalization and fine-tuning in mobile video production. These upgrades will soon be available for Xiaomi’s top-tier models, including the Xiaomi 15 and 14 series, MIX Flip and Fold 4, Redmi K80 and K70 lines, Civi 4 Pro, and Redmi Turbo 4.

AI integration and a better in-car experience

Beyond media editing, HyperOS 2.2 integrates AI tools that can recognize dates and appointments in messages and add them directly to the calendar. The CarWith system has also received a significant revamp, offering clearer, faster navigation and a cleaner interface with light/dark modes that adjust to the time of day.
