Hyundai Motors achieves record sales for fifth month in a row in the U.S.

Hyundai Motors has achieved its fifth consecutive month of record sales in the United States, reporting over 62,000 vehicle sales in February, a 3% increase compared to the same month last year.

Randy Parker, CEO of Hyundai North America, emphasized the milestone, noting that this February was the automaker’s best in terms of total sales, exceeding industry forecasts which averaged around 1% growth.

The surge in sales can largely be attributed to the growing popularity of electrified vehicles, with sales of EVs and hybrids increasing by an impressive 25% year-over-year.

The newly updated 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 features significant enhancements

Notably, models such as the Hyundai Sante Fe HEV and Tucson have outperformed expectations, with some models like the IONIQ 6 recording sales hikes of 12%.

The IONIQ 5, Hyundai’s flagship electric SUV, continues to dominate the market, with a notable 22% increase in sales, totaling 4,692 units sold in the first three months of 2025—up 36% from the previous year.

The newly updated 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 features significant enhancements, including a driving range of up to 318 miles and an interior overhaul complete with dual 12.3-inch display screens and wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Additionally, this model now supports charging at Tesla Superchargers through a native NACS port, expanding charging convenience for drivers as they gain access to over 36,000 DC fast chargers nationwide.

Hyundai is making electric ownership more accessible with monthly leasing rates starting at just $229, which is more economical than its Sonata sedan, despite the additional cost associated with the IONIQ 5.

To further incentivize buyers, the company is offering a free ChargePoint Level 2 home charger or a $400 public charging credit for those who purchase or lease the 2025 IONIQ 5. Looking ahead, with the spring launch of the IONIQ 9 and anticipated tax credits, Hyundai expects to build on this momentum throughout 2025.
