Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery has officially opened pre-orders for its impressive new model, the Exeed VX C-DM, a luxury three-row SUV boasting a remarkable 610 hp and an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) capability that offers a range of 1,300 km (over 800 miles).
With a starting price of just $33,085 USD, the Exeed VX C-DM positions itself as a strong contender in the growing global market for electric vehicles.
The Exeed VX C-DM features a well-engineered powertrain that combines a 1.5L internal combustion engine (ICE) with a three-speed DHT gearbox, alongside a powerful dual-electric motor setup.
Accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds
The front motor produces 165 kW, while the rear motor kicks in with 175 kW, delivering a combined peak power output of 455 kW (around 610 hp) and 920 Nm of torque. This impressive power allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
For those who prefer electric driving, the SUV’s integrated CATL NMC battery allows for 180 km (approximately 112 miles) of electric range, making it a worthy rival against similar offerings such as the Mazda CX-90 PHEV and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which struggle to reach comparable ranges.
Inside, the Exeed VX C-DM is designed for luxury, featuring quilted leather interiors, massaging front seats, and a sophisticated 23-speaker sound system. With 26 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including self-driving features, it achieved a top safety rating with 5 stars in the C-NCAP crash test, fortified by a high-performance integrated cage and 10 airbags.
Experts note that China boasts significant advantages in manufacturing efficiency, battery technology, and overall vehicle value, particularly with the support of structural benefits that relieve manufacturers from healthcare and pension burdens. As such, the Exeed VX C-DM exemplifies why Chinese automakers are setting new benchmarks in the global EV market.
