Well, a recent study conducted by Brown University, where they have asked the following question: what would happen if ChatGPT 3.5 were assigned the role of CEO in a company?
The researchers created a fictitious virtual software development company called CHAT DEV. From here, they aimed to test four key processes in software development: design, coding, testing, and documentation. The idea was for artificial intelligence to respond on its own… and the result was quite good.
86.66% of the projects developed by AI ran smoothly. For example, it created a board game called Gomoku. It developed this in just seven minutes, and its production cost was minimal. The title was a kind of “connect five” game with moderate complexity, but what’s most relevant is that AI was able to create the guidelines, rules, or interface of the game itself.
As a curiosity, artificial intelligence had an internal debate about which programming language was ideal to start the company. After a series of deliberations, the company (meaning the AI) opted for Python due to its “simplicity and readability.”
In conclusion, the university study pointed out that while the results were good and promising, limitations were also observed.
