Today, we have to report on one of those moves that nobody likes, as it involves a truly unpleasant and deplorable practice by a major company. The protagonist of this situation is Ubisoft, a company that has recently initiated a process to close inactive accounts of thousands of users worldwide, regardless of whether they have purchased video games or not.

During these past few days, it has been the users themselves who have received an email from Ubisoft. In the message, they were informed that their account had been inactive for too long, and as a result, a process to suspend it had been initiated. Just like that.

“We have noticed that you have not been using your Ubisoft account associated with your email. We have temporarily suspended your account and will permanently close it within 30 days, according to our terms and conditions of use. If you wish to keep your Ubisoft account, cancel the process by clicking the button below,” reads the message from the French company.

With this last part, it’s clear that if users wish to keep their account, they must log in within the next 30 days. Otherwise, the account will be lost forever. Ubisoft has stated that whether users have purchased or redeemed any games, there will be no exceptions. Therefore, if you have spent money on buying an Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry game, you would lose access to these games.

Of course, Ubisoft has expressed that they do not want to close any accounts, and they urge users to log in at some point to prevent this from happening. Unfortunately, they haven’t provided any alternative solution, so it’s either log in or close the account.
