Less than 24 hours ago, we gave you details about Keystone, the Xbox console that was going to exclusively use the cloud for gaming. The project ultimately didn’t come to fruition due to development costs and the price not being appealing to the public, but also because of the widespread use of the cloud among different market gadgets. The cloud has allowed us to play from countless different locations, and now a key one is being added: Amazon Fire TV.
Microsoft announced just hours ago that it has signed a collaboration agreement with Amazon. The goal is to make Xbox Game Pass Ultimate available for use on all Fire TV 4K devices or Fire TV Stick 4K Max. This way, any user who has the famous Amazon “Stick” and an active Xbox Game Pass subscription will be able to play video games, thanks to the “power of the cloud”.
Continuing with the revealed information, Microsoft specified that Xbox Game Pass will arrive “starting in July” in a total of 25 different countries. “We are excited to add Fire TV to our growing family of cloud gaming devices and eager to welcome new players to this experience,” emphasizes Ashley McKissick, Corporate Vice President of Experiences at Xbox, in the text.
As you would assume, to use Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on Fire TV, you’ll also have to have a controller to play. The controller will connect via Bluetooth, although it’s important to note that it’s not specified whether the Xbox controller is the only functional one. In other words, it’s possible that the PlayStation 5 DualSense can also be used, but we’ll have to wait to confirm this.
As soon as we have more details about it, here at Softonic you will be the first to know all the information.
