Fans of Like a Dragon, the saga previously known in the West as Yakuza, have been waiting for months for the release of what will undoubtedly be the biggest title from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be released on January 26th and promises to give us dozens or even hundreds of hours of gameplay, with dozens of side missions, mini-games, and things to do in general.

While the game’s marketing campaign since its release date was announced has left us speechless, one detail of it, which has gone unnoticed until now, has turned out to be a disappointment.

And it is that, after the advance sale of the different packs of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the two most expensive editions include a feature that is at least striking and will not be available to users of the standard edition: the New Game Plus.

According to the Twitter account @PC_Focus_, which echoes the information available on the official Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio website, the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth offer, among other things, the “Master Vacation” pack, whose description reads as follows: “Explore an extra dungeon, get special sujimon, resort guests, costumes, New Game + and much more”.

The most curious thing about all this is that this is not the first time that a Like a Dragon installment tries to offer New Game Plus as paid DLC. With Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Sega wanted to do the same with the Japanese versions of the game, quickly encountering a great rejection from the fanbase (who would have thought).

Although this information has been mentioned in promotional material for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and on the studio’s own website, it is unknown whether the company will actually take the risk of putting this feature behind a “paywall” or end up offering it for free as it has been until now (like the rest of the video games that have this function).
