The official launch of iOS 18.1 is approaching, and Apple is still finishing up some final details in the beta 6 of the operating system. What will be the first major update of iOS 18 comes with many new features, and this sixth beta is further proof of that. Small details throughout the entire system

  • In this update, we have new controls for the Control Center. It is now possible to add the AirDrop and Satellite toggles as individual buttons. A change from the previous version, where these two buttons were only available from the grouped connectivity control.
  • Additionally, two new controls have been added for the Measure app: one dedicated to the measurement itself and another for the leveling function.
  • On the iPhone 16, the Camera Control shows a visual indication in the form of a line when we press it lightly.
  • Now, when several notifications are grouped and a number is displayed on the grouping icon, this number will adopt the color of the wallpaper.
  • Regarding Apple Intelligence, new welcome screens have been added in various applications like Mail, the App Store, and Messages, highlighting the functionalities offered by the system’s artificial intelligence, such as message summaries, priority messages, and smart replies.
  • In the Notes app, the Apple Intelligence button now has a small pencil next to it.
  • New option to share songs directly from Apple Music to TikTok. With a single tap on “Share song,” we can upload a song as a video or photo to TikTok, automatically integrating the audio into the post. A functionality similar to what was introduced with Instagram, although in this case, TikTok allows the sound to accompany the post more dynamically.
  • The camera and microphone access indicators that appear in the Control Center now have a new animation.
  • If we have the beta of watchOS 11.1 installed on the Apple Watch, we will see that the sleep apnea detection feature is already available.

With the official launch scheduled for October 28, we will soon be able to enjoy these and other new features on our devices.
