In recent months, we have seen rumors emerging about a possible restructuring of the iPhone 17 camera design.
Although the initial indications were quickly denied, the persistence of the rumors has kept the anticipation alive among the followers of the bitten apple brand.
And the latest leak doesn’t help, as a render of an iPhone 17 case has been leaked suggesting a significant change in the camera layout, which could adopt a horizontal shape.
Apple looking to Google to advance in symmetries
This render shows an alignment of lenses in a row, accompanied by an LED flash located to the right of the rear panel. Additionally, it includes a new camera control button and a lock button, indicating a possible focus on the device’s ergonomics and functionality.
According to Bu, this design would be applied not only to the Pro models of the iPhone 17 but to the entire range, although the render only shows one lens, which suggests that the final device could have a more complete configuration.
It has been speculated that the influence of the horizontal design of the Pixel 9 series by Google could have inspired this new approach by Apple, raising questions about the aesthetic horizon of both manufacturers.
For years, Apple and Samsung have been criticized for copying each other, and now this apparent copying of Google’s design could result in a homogenization of phones, which might disappoint many users who appreciate the unique designs of the devices.
Despite Majin Bu having a leak history with a 50% accuracy rate, other reports also support this significant change, suggesting that it is increasingly likely that this is a legitimate direction for the iPhone 17. However, as always, we will have to wait to confirm these rumors and see which design ultimately convinces Apple.
