Dinglederg, a prominent Twitch streamer, has managed to reach Grandmaster 2 rank in Marvel Rivals without dealing any damage, focusing exclusively on Rocket Raccoon’s healing abilities. In an impressive run of 108 matches, Dinglederg achieved 71 victories, accumulating over 2.9 million healing points and, surprisingly, without causing any damage. This approach has sparked an intense debate about the role of support characters in competitive games, highlighting the importance of those who can keep their team standing without the need to contribute to the inflicted damage.

During a recent interview with GamesRadar+, Dinglederg, known on Twitter as NoDamageRocket, explained that his choice of Rocket Raccoon lies in his personal affinity with the character. The streamer seeks to add humor and positivity to the gaming experience, which translates into his play style that invites laughter with phrases like “¡Rocket’s got yer flarkin back!”. This approach has been well received among the community, creating a more pleasant atmosphere in matches that are often intense.

Although he has done no harm, he confesses it has been a team effort

However, his method has sparked conversations about whether a support that avoids damage can be fully trusted. In his defense, Dinglederg points out that, although he plays defensively, other team members must take on the role of attackers. Additionally, despite not causing damage, he has been able to perform constant healing and provide vital boosts for his group. The Marvel Rivals community has begun to compare the game to Overwatch, especially after the introduction of a limited mode similar to the popular Lúcioball, which could attract a new audience.

With his promotion to Grandmaster 2, Dinglederg expresses his desire to keep climbing: “Here we are, I hope to reach the Celestial rank,” concluded the streamer, adding motivation and a touch of lightness to the competitiveness of the game.
