A new era of adventures in the Star Wars universe is on the way with the announcement of a comic series that will mark the return of the iconic characters Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Luke Skywalker. This series, set after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, will be written by Alex Segura, a distinguished author awarded the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and will feature the visionary art of Phil Noto.
According to Segura, it is a “great honor and a huge responsibility” to lead this project, highlighting the collaboration with Noto as a crucial component for the success of the narrative. Noto, for his part, expresses his enthusiasm at being able to develop new interpretations of the classic characters, given that there are no film or television versions of them in this specific period of Star Wars history.
A Return to the Origins That Promises to Be Much More Than That
The series will focus on the time between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, a period rich in events that includes significant references to the Battle of Jakku. The narrative of this new adventure will be broken down into three limited series: Insurgency Rising, Republic Under Siege, and Last Stand.
Star Wars #1, which will be the first issue of this exciting series, is scheduled to be released on May 7. With the recent addition of spin-off shows like Andor and The Acolyte, fans of the saga appreciate this return to the roots of the Star Wars universe, where the original characters continue their legacy and face new challenges. As the galaxy expands, nostalgia and innovation intertwine, promising a unique experience for fans of all generations.
