The farewell to Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu in Pokémon happened not long ago, and the official anime series now features two new protagonists: Liko and Roy. With the Galar region as the new place to explore and great adventures ahead, the series has been rebooted, making it clear that the characters are complete rookies… and demonstrating just how useless they can be.
While Ash had already become a meme for spending so many years chasing the Pokémon League without achieving anything, he finally silenced all the fans by becoming a Champion after defeating Lionel and several other Elite Four members. But Liko and Roy have a long, long way to go before reaching Ash’s level of experience and accomplishment.

They are still learning to fight
In the last episode of the anime, Liko and Roy fight together against Captain Pikachu, the new mascot of this anime if we take into account that Roy has Fuecoco and Liko has Sprigatito. Both fight with their pokémon against the fearsome Pikachu, but soon they fall before they don’t know how to fight him.
As soon as the fight begins, Captain Pikachu uses Double Team, which greatly increases his evasion, as Pokémon gamers know. Faced with this, the two protagonists do not know how to react, and decide to launch the strongest attack of each one of them. but what happens? Basically, that neither manages to hit their rival and both end up exhausted, which leaves them sold before the power of Pikachu.

The episode takes its time to explain the move and help the audience, along with the protagonists, understand how to battle in Pokémon. This new formula allows for a complete reset and provides detailed explanations of concepts that had already been clarified before. It’s amusing to see that we have returned to a level lower than the original Ash, but it adds an enjoyable twist to the storyline.
