New WhatsApp update makes it easier to ignore your friends

Looks like WhatsApp is ramping up on performance with the new update. The messaging app has never been so functional and with the new update, it will let you ignore your friends more conveniently. The most important part of the update features the “unsend” option that will let you take back what you said as long as your friend didn’t see the message.

Let’s start with the first and very interesting feature coming with this update. Watching YouTube videos inside WhatsApp. If someone sends you a video you can instantly play it inside the app and still be able to switch between conversations. Here is how WhatsApp explains the change:

“When you receive a link to a YouTube video, you can now play it right within WhatsApp. With picture-in-picture, you can also keep watching the video while you navigate to another chat.”

It is really unclear how people will be able to maintain a meaningful conversation and watch videos at the same time but let’s give it some time and see how it works out.

The most interesting feature, however, is definitely the unsend option that WhatsApp users will now have. If you’ve sent out some angry messages but have since changed your, you can do unsend them with one click. Just press unsend and the message will be deleted. This will only work if your friend hasn’t already read it of course, but it is still a very handy feature. We’ve all sent messages we didn’t mean to, haven’t we?

All of these features are available in the 2.17.81 update that has already been released for iOS. What do you think about these new features, will some of them come in handy? Let us know in the comments below.
