Pedro Pascal is one of the most valued actors of the moment. After starring in The Last Of Us and The Mandalorian, the interpreter of Oberyn Martell in Game Of Thrones is in a state of grace like few others in the industry. That is why he does not stop splicing new projects, and the last one that has been announced is especially striking.

After jumping on board Gladiator 2, a film in which he will share the cast with Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington and Barry Keoghan, the actor has been confirmed to star in another great film in which he will repeat in horror: Weapons.

The new film from the director of Barbarian

Weapons is the next project of Zach Cregger, director of one of the films that made the most noise last year in the United States: Barbarian. In Spain it came directly to us through Disney Plus, and despite not being the most famous horror film of last year, it did become one of the most prestigious and valued.

Weapons is a project that New Line Cinema bought two months ago for 38 million dollars, including the budget. After a bidding process in which Jordan Peele and his production company also participated, New Line finally won the deal. Of that $38 million, $5 million will go directly to Cregger as director, plus another $5 million as producer and screenwriter. We do not know what Pascal will charge, but it should not be far from these figures.

The plot of the film has not yet transcended, but considering the offer that there was to get the project and Pedro Pascal‘s yes, it should be very interesting. Undoubtedly, Zach Cregger is carving out a niche for himself in the American horror industry, and if he continues on this path, he can compete with titans like Peele or Ari Aster.
