If you thought Bollywood was the only film industry in India, then get ready for a myriad of different doors to open: there are dozens of different film industries based on their locations. Jollywood, Tollywood, Pahariwood, Sandalwood, or Coastalwood are part of an endless universe of self-produced films. You really can’t even imagine: thousands of movies are produced each year for millions and millions of people. Not Marvel or anything. What they want to see there is Salman Khan. No wonder.

You can’t do this

If I say ‘Tiger,’ you might think of a store where they sell very cheap things of questionable quality, but it’s actually a series of Indian spy films that began in 2012 with ‘Ek Tha Tiger,’ starring Salman Khan, one of the highest-paid actors in the world, who has only appeared in one Hollywood movie (‘Marigold’).

Since then, the franchise has grown to five installments, including its own spin-off (‘War’), and Amazon Prime Video is releasing some, like ‘Pathaan.’ You can imagine what the release of ‘Tiger 3’ has meant for Indian cinemas: an ‘Endgame,’ but even bigger. After six years of anticipation, it premiered on Sunday, November 12, during Diwali, and the fans have responded. Perhaps too much.

And it’s because a group of fans started throwing firecrackers and fireworks inside Cine Mohan, causing panic among the other spectators for obvious reasons. Khan has called for order, saying on Twitter, ‘This is dangerous. Let’s enjoy the movie without putting ourselves and others at risk. Stay safe.’ The police are afraid that the situation might go viral, although, fortunately, it doesn’t seem very likely.

Interestingly, it’s not the first time fireworks have been set off during one of the actor’s movies: his fans did the same during the screenings of ‘Antim: The Final Truth.‘ If one day he makes a really bad movie… can we say it’s a firecracker?
