Good news for those who want to try PayDay 3 before its release on September 21st. According to the information we just learned a few minutes ago, Deep Silver and Starbreeze have announced that there will be an open beta during this upcoming weekend, from September 8th to September 11th to be precise. This way, you’ll be able to play the next installment completely for free, as is logical, on Xbox and on Steam.

In the words of the studio itself, the goal is to “test the servers” for the upcoming release. Furthermore, the open technical beta does not require an access key and offers the same content as the closed technical beta conducted last August.

As a clarification, the version that will be playable is based on a version of the game from April of this year, meaning it is far from the final release that we will see in a couple of weeks in stores. “This beta allows the development studio to identify potential server issues before the launch.”

The contents that the technical beta will have are as follows:

  • The original crew: Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and Wolf. The iconic characters with clown masks are all playable, each with their own set of skills.
  • A classic heist as a game mode. Players must steal the money stored in a small bank’s vault. You can do it stealthily or go in guns blazing. It’s up to you, of course.
  • It can be played on all difficulty levels. Level limit and progression up to level 22, and level 8 for weapons.

Don’t forget that PayDay 3 will be available on day 1 through Xbox Game Pass.
