Disney Plus is emerging as the strongest alternative to Netflix currently available. While other platforms like Apple TV+ or HBO Max seem to be following Netflix’s strategy to surpass it in terms of subscriptions, Disney+ is forging its own path…and it’s working great for them.
Beyond the updates related to Star Wars or Marvel, where they have been leading the market for years, Disney+ is bringing all kinds of new versions of their classics and original programs that are a delight for subscribers.
Next April is led by two very interesting premieres: the film Peter Pan & Wendy and the special program by Jordi Évole, “Amén. Francisco responde,” in which a group of young people interview the Pope of Rome. Here are the highlights.
Standout premieres on Disney+ in April
Amén. Francisco responde
In this special documentary guided by Jordi Évole, the reporter from Salvados gathers a group of young people to meet with Pope Francis. The different young people represent realities such as immigration, prostitution, poverty, and abuse, and the Pope must respond to their current concerns.
Release date: 04/05
Tiny Beautiful Things
Starring Kathryn Hahn, famous in Marvel for her wonderful portrayal of Agatha Harkness, this series tells the story of a woman who reluctantly becomes Dear Sugar. She soon realizes that she can’t stop giving advice even when no one asks for it.
Release date: 04/07

How I Met Your Father – Season 2
This spin-off series of “How I Met Your Mother” returns for its second season, once again starring Hilary Duff. Although not as successful as the original series, the sitcom has garnered a large audience that will be eagerly awaiting these new episodes.
Release date: 04/19
Peter Pan & Wendy
Although we are somewhat tired of Disney’s live-action remakes – just take a look at the appearance of The Little Mermaid to realize it – the adaptation of Peter Pan promises something far superior to the usual. And it does so thanks to its director, David Lowery, who has proven to be a brutal filmmaker thanks to The Green Knight and A Ghost Story, but who also knows how to make his mark with Disney tales, as he showed with Pete’s Dragon.
Release date: 04/28
