Amazon Prime Video has decided to revitalize one of Stephen King’s great horror classics with a new adaptation of Carrie. However, this time it will arrive differently. Instead of being a movie, it will be an eight-episode miniseries. Additionally, what makes this project special is that it will be under the direction of Mike Flanagan, a master of the genre who recently moved from Netflix to Prime Video.

Carrie was King’s first novel and has had several adaptations since its publication in 1974, with the most memorable being the 1976 film directed by Brian De Palma. However, this new version promises to delve even deeper into the lives of the characters, exploring the traumas that define the protagonist, Carrie White, a young woman with telekinetic powers who suffers abuse both at home and at school.
