We love a good novelty here at Softonic, particularly when it highlights amazing possibilities for future games, apps, and programs. The novelty in question today is Abishek Singh’s prototype Augmented Reality (AR) Street Fighter II Real World Warrior game.

AR is when virtual components are added to the real world to augment your experience. Famous examples include Pokemon Go, Snapchat filters, and Google’s new photo app Lens that’ll give you information on whatever is in the photograph you’re scanning with the program. Singh’s latest project has seen him create a fully functional multiplayer version of the classic fighting game that allows you to fight with your favorite Street Fighter characters in real-world locations.

If you recognize Singh’s name it is because we’ve featured one of his creations before. Back in June, we showed you a video of his Super Mario Bros. AR game. This time, however, Singh was trying to create a multiplayer experience, which got him thinking about Street Fighter II.

The game looks a little sluggish, but it is well realized, showcases impressive awareness of its surroundings, and even includes the famous bonus round that sees your character smashing up a car. Unfortunately for all you Street Fighter II fans, however, due to license restrictions will never be released and you’ll never get to play it. You definitely want to though, don’t you?

Why not try these AR apps and games instead:
