Don’t think that Rockstar hasn’t noticed that you can’t wait to play and know more about ‘GTA 6‘, but that’s not going to make them release it sooner. Unlike the majority of the industry, they have thought that if you have waited eleven years, you can wait a couple more months without any problem to enjoy a fully finished game. Or, in other words, it will be released when it’s released. And that’s it. No pressure.

After the success of ‘GTA 5’ and ‘Red Dead Redemption 2‘, they know perfectly well that all eyes are on them and that they will be the game to beat when it finally comes out. “We are seeking perfection, and when we feel that we have creatively optimized it, that will be the moment to launch it“ was the explanation they gave to an investor who asked when and how they decided to release their bombs.
Obviously, investors want success and money as soon as possible, but in a time of crunch and games released before their time (like that Spider-man 2 that is missing at least a quarter of the story…) they are perfectly aware of what they are doing: “There is an inherent tension, potentially, between releasing something to the market and creating perfection, but this company falls on the side of perfection”. Perfection, huh. Quite something.
And yes, indeed, they know you’re eager to get your hands on this sixth installment. “We feel that the anticipation is much greater – much, much greater. But the 195 million units sold of ‘GTA 5‘ is not something to sleep on”. You don’t need to be a great analyst either: the trailer has already been seen by 174 million people (note: 21 million less than those who bought the previous installment) and the overwhelming majority of the comments have been positive.
On the other hand, if the game doesn’t interest you, I’m sorry for the two years ahead of you, because they are going to be a spectacular drag with every new detail that is known. After all, 195 million people are eagerly awaiting it.
