The video game market is oversaturated. The numbers prove it: just on Steam, we had over 14,000 new games in 2023. With this landscape, standing out among so many has become an increasingly difficult task. That’s why we are seeing more and more crazy ideas emerge, such as the proposal of Redemption Road Games.
On February 20th, the trailer announcing Kingmakers, their new title, was released. In said video, we can see thousands of soldiers fighting in an open field, in the purest Total War style. However, the real party begins from the 23 seconds of the trailer.
As a player, you take on the role of a time traveler who must face thousands of medieval soldiers. Your weapons? A modest van and various firearms. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to run over an entire platoon of ancient soldiers and then shoot them, Kingmakers is your ideal game.
However, not everything is going to be mindless violence. When you get tired of shooting everyone, you can always switch to the aerial view to give orders to the squads and build fortifications. Kingmakers also offers a four-player cooperative mode, where they will collaborate to bring down enemy castle defenses or protect allied fortresses.
Kingmakers will be available as Early Access at some point in 2024.
