AI Clip Maker: from script to short-form video in one click

The success of TikTok or Instagram has shown us that the immediate is more important than ever. Capturing the audience’s attention depends not only on having good ideas: knowing how to tell it quickly and impacting are key. In response to this need, Adobe has integrated a new feature within Adobe Express that will make it even easier to create videos.

Now, Adobe Express will allow us to generate video clips from a simple description. Thanks to this, both creatives and professionals will be able to save a lot of time when creating campaigns or visualizing ideas. Next, we will explain how it works so you can make the most of it.

Hundreds of hours of work reduced to a single click

Being a good content creator is not as easy as it seems at first. Those who have tried it (and continue to try) know this: writing a script, recording, editing, searching for music, adding subtitles… It’s a whole process that requires, among other things, many hours of dedication.

Fortunately, with Adobe Express we won’t have to invest so much time. Its new generation feature is capable of creating videos from a written script. Express analyzes the text and generates a short clip that can also include background music or visual effects. All without the need for technical editing knowledge.

This technology does not come out of nowhere. In April 2025, OpusClips introduced ClipAnything and AI B-Roll, two very interesting tools for content creators. With the first one, for example, we can use prompts to extract the most interesting moments from any video.

With an example, you will see it very clearly: imagine that you have recorded a football match and want to extract the exact moment when a goal was scored. Write it down in ClipAnything and the program will take care of finding that moment in your video. On the other hand, AI B-Roll will help us to generate video content for our projects.

Whatever the case may be, the goal of all these tools is the same: to facilitate content creation for social media.

Create short videos within Adobe Express

Sometimes, we harbor great ideas in our heads but are unsure how to translate them into reality, whether due to a lack of skill or knowledge. Thanks to technologies like the one that incorporates

• Access Adobe Express. The easiest (and most obvious) step of all: access the web platform from this link. Remember that to log in you will need an active Adobe account. If you don’t have one, you can register for free.

• Once inside, we will create a new project. Click on the + button that you will see in the top left corner.

• Select the size that best fits your needs. You will find templates for videos, Instagram posts, and much more. In this case, we will choose the mobile video option, which can be found under Video.

• Click on the Generative AI section. You will see it located at the bottom of the left toolbar.

• Here, we will go to Video and select the Generate Video option.
• In the text box above, we must describe the type of video we want to generate. Adobe Express allows you to use an image as a clip’s starting point and adjust the camera angles. When you finish with all the fields, select Generate to get the video.

• Further down on the timeline, you will see that you can add sounds or songs to the generated clip and alter its length.

How can I make a clip with AI in Adobe Express

With Adobe Express, creating clips from any video is easier than it seems. You just need to follow these steps:

• Just like before, go to the + symbol. Then we will go to Quick actions and there, we will look for the Clip Maker function.

• Upload your video. Within Adobe Express, upload a video that is at least one minute long in Clip Maker. Don’t forget to check the Add captions option if you want to include subtitles.

• Click on Generate clips to see your video “sliced” into smaller pieces. You will be able to customize them to the fullest within the Adobe Express editor by adding animations, effects, and much more.
• You can also add music from the TikTok Commercial Music Library or use royalty-free sounds.
• When you’re done, download your clip and share it with the world.
