Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) will release the “PS5 Slim” in November. It also includes an intriguing new feature, the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive for the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.

A Closer look at the PS5 Slim

The PS5 Slim’s main selling point is its small size and weight. Sony has managed to lower the console’s volume by more than 30% and its weight by 18% to 24% when compared to previous iterations. As a result, the gaming setup is more manageable and simple. The formerly towering PS5 is now 33 mm (about 1.25 inches) shorter and 44 mm (about 1.73 inches) slimmer. The new basic PS5 model is around 1.3 kg lighter. These changes result in a more accessible and portable gaming experience.

PS5 Slim price

One of the highlights of the PS5 Slim launch is that it maintains the same price point as the standard PlayStation 5 model. You can get your hands on the revamped PS5 for $499.99, ensuring that you can enjoy the latest in gaming technology without any additional cost. The PS5 Slim will hit the market next month. However, the PS5 Digital Edition, the disk-less variant of the PS5, will see a modest price increase. It will be available at $449.99, slightly higher than its initial launch price of $399 back in 2020.
