If you were planning to play it on release day with your premium subscription, we fear that EA has other plans

Split Fiction, the new game from acclaimed creator Josef Fares, will be released today, March 6, 2025, at 5:00 PM in Spain. The title has generated high expectations among players, who are eager to explore this new cooperative game that promises innovative mechanics and a captivating narrative experience. Fares, known for his successful titles like It Takes Two and A Way Out, hopes to replicate that success with this new project.
A very little pro subscription
However, the arrival of Split Fiction is not without controversy. Unlike other recent releases from Electronic Arts, such as Star Wars Jedi Survivor and Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the game will not be available from its launch on EA Play Pro, the subscription service that allows PC players to access the latest EA titles for 17 euros a month. This situation marks a milestone, as it becomes the first major EA title excluded from this service, generating strong discontent among subscribers.
The reaction of users in the forums has been quick and negative, with many pointing out that it is unfair that, despite the increase in the price of the EA Play Pro subscription, new releases are not offered. A Community Manager from EA confirmed that, at least for the moment, there are no plans for Split Fiction to be available in the subscription service, although he added that they are always exploring ways to offer more content to their members.
The exclusion of Split Fiction from EA Play Pro adds to the growing criticism of the service, where players expect to justify the monthly cost with access to the latest titles. As the release date approaches, the gaming community remains eager, not only for the expected quality of the game but also for the decisions that EA will make regarding its subscription services in the future.
