Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of the most anticipated releases of this year. After Capcom‘s good work with the remakes of the first three installments of their saga, they are about to do the same with this fourth game, one of the most remembered of the franchise.
In Spain, RE4 is quite a meme thanks to the fact that it supposedly takes place in a place in our country. Latin phrases like “Detrás de ti, imbésil” (“Behind you, imbecile”), which have little or nothing to do with the Spanish accent, made the game a sort of meme that has continued to be explored over the years. However, Capcom is taking the joke to even higher levels… and worldwide.
Resident Evil 4 meets Studio Ghibli
The company has just unveiled an official spot of the videogame in Japan, and it is very curious. In it we see Leon Scott Kennedy, the protagonist of the title, reconverted in the purest Heidi or Studio Ghibli style. The hellish village of the game is now a charming village, and the young man is happy while looking for Ashley.
However, when he asks the neighbors about his whereabouts, he finds that the kindly old men he expected to lend him a hand are zombies who do not hesitate to kill him. Mind you, a rainbow comes out of his head instead of blood. The tone must be maintained above all else.
Despite the joke of the spot, Resident Evil 4 Remake has everything to be a great success. It will be released on March 24 and will show if it is up to the level of its predecessor, as has happened with the rest of the remakes, or if this time the thing has gone wrong. For the moment, its 93 on Metacritic is enlightening.
