There is nothing accidental here, not even the color of the court. It is no coincidence that just when the ATP 2024 circuit has started with the beginning of the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open, 2K has wanted to announce the return of Top Spin.

Tennis fans can finally rejoice, as 2K has finally announced Top Spin 2K25 with a short teaser trailer. The announcement coincided with the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open.

No further details have been given, although 2K has told fans to “stay tuned” and that the game will be released “soon”. There is also an official website, although no additional information can be found on it other than what is given here.

When will Top Spin 2K25 be released and on which platforms

However, there is no need to be alarmed by the mention of “2K25” in the title, it is most likely to be released this same year. 2K tends to use the following year after the actual release, as NBA 2K24 demonstrates (released in September 2023).

The most acclaimed tennis simulation game series has been inactive since 2011, when 2K Czech released Top Spin 4 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. 2K Czech, mostly known for the Mafia series, later merged with Hangar 13.

And since then everything continues its course: in May 2022, Jason Schreier was the first to reveal that Hangar 13 was working on a revival of Top Spin, supposedly under the codename Project Hammer.

Hangar 13 is also working on a new game in the Mafia series, Mafia IV, according to reports, but it will be released after Top Spin 2K25. Of course, this Top Spin 2K25 will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
