The world of smartwatches has grown significantly in recent years, although it has stagnated, much like smartphones, since the pandemic. And according to what Google has confirmed, they have no intention of incentivizing that market by offering quality support. Be very careful with your Pixel Watch because Google’s warranty does not cover screen repairs, and you won’t be able to get it repaired officially.
This information has been confirmed by The Verge, who, in response to complaints from many Pixel Watch users, contacted Google to confirm that indeed Google does not handle repairs for broken screens. So, if your Pixel Watch is broken, you will have to look for third-party alternatives to repair your smartwatch.
No support, no paradise
For better or worse, Google does not sell its Pixel Watch in Spain. However, if you decided to purchase one through importation and have one, remember to take good care of it because its screen is not repairable, at least not officially. In fact, Google emphasizes that the only thing they can offer is replacement options by contacting customer support.
Apart from Google not providing support, there is also no clear way to obtain original parts. Therefore, for a third-party repair with a panel compatible with the design of this watch, it’s not easy to find this display due to its unique dome design. This has generated a lot of disappointment among users who trusted Google to provide an alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Watch and Apple Watch.

Bad publicity ahead of their upcoming event
This information hasn’t come at the best time for Google, as it is scheduled for October 4th to unveil its new smart devices: the Pixel 8 smartphone lineup and potentially the new Pixel Watch 2, if insider predictions in the wearable tech industry and accidental leaks from Google itself are correct.
On the other hand, this very negative customer information also casts a shadow over other positive changes they were making in various departments, such as the imminent arrival of Google TV on Android TVs. From now on, Google will need to demonstrate improvements in its support policy to address the criticisms of users disappointed with its after-sales service.
