Tesla Launches Powershare Outlet Adapter Amid Cybertruck Feature Cuts

Tesla has recently unveiled the “Powershare Outlet Adapter” a new accessory designed to allow Cybertruck owners to utilize the vehicle’s battery to power electronics.

This adapter, priced at $80, requires Tesla’s Gen 3 Mobile Connector, which is sold separately for an additional $300.

While this adapter provides a makeshift solution for those who need power on the go, many consumers are expressing disappointment over the lack of standard power outlets in the new, more affordable Cybertruck Long Range RWD.

Critics Question Tesla’s Strategy as Cheaper Cybertruck Model Omits Essential Functionalities

The Long Range RWD version of the Cybertruck is positioned as a budget-friendly alternative, coming in at $9,000 higher than originally anticipated.

However, Tesla has made significant sacrifices in terms of features, eliminating up to $20,000 worth of capabilities while only reducing the overall price by $10,000 compared to the Dual Motor model. This trade-off has left many potential buyers feeling disillusioned.

Critics point out that not only does this stripped-down version lack the dual 120V and single 240V outlets in the bed, but it also omits the two 120V outlets in the cabin.

Instead, consumers must now purchase the Powershare Outlet Adapter to achieve any semblance of functionality. While the adapter might offer some relief, it underscores Tesla’s apparent strategy to make the pricier models seem more desirable by comparison.

As Tesla continues to innovate in the electric vehicle market, the decision to launch a model with fewer features, coupled with an additional cost for necessary accessories, raises questions about the company’s strategic direction.

Some industry insiders speculate that this version aims to enhance the perceived value of the higher-end Cybertruck while also revealing potential cracks in Tesla’s competitive edge in the rapidly evolving automotive landscape.
