Tesla has unveiled its latest over-the-air software update, dubbed the ‘Spring Update’, which introduces a variety of new features, though many are specific to certain vehicles and geographic regions.
While the update is significant—bringing a host of improvements—many Tesla owners will find that not all features are available to them immediately.
One of the standout features is the adaptive high beam functionality, a technology that has been in use in Europe but is now available for North American vehicles.
Upgraded Trip Planner Makes Tesla Road Trips Even More Convenient
This feature aims to enhance nighttime visibility while reducing glare for other drivers and cyclists. By utilizing matrix headlights, Tesla vehicles equipped with this technology can detect surrounding road users and selectively adjust the brightness of individual pixels in the headlights. Owners can activate this feature via the controls under ‘Lights’.
For the refreshed Model S and Model X from 2021 to 2025, Tesla has also introduced enhanced Dashcam capabilities. The addition of recordings from side cameras increases the total recorded angles from four to six, providing drivers with expanded coverage for security purposes.
This redesign of the Dashcam Viewer app, featuring a grid layout and quick-swipe video review tools, responds directly to customer requests and the rising concern over vandalism.
Moreover, Tesla’s Trip Planner has received an upgrade, offering clearer routing options and displaying nearby attractions when viewing Supercharger locations, making road trips more convenient for users.
As Tesla continues to deliver the highly anticipated Cybertruck, the vehicle is set to receive ongoing improvements in its Autopilot features, further solidifying Tesla’s position in the electric pickup market.
While the advancements are notable, some features remain in the pipeline and may roll out in future updates. Tesla owners can expect ongoing improvements as the company adapts to both customer feedback and the evolving landscape of electric vehicle technology.
