Tesla's free fall continues in February: these have been its sales
Tesla's sales in Europe have plummeted by almost 50% year-on-year at the beginning of 2025

Tesla’s sales in Europe have experienced a drastic decline, with an approximate year-over-year decrease of 50% in January 2025, a trend that has continued into February.
Initial data from key markets such as France, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark show significant declines in electric vehicle sales, including the Model Y, whose refreshed version will be launched in March.
Despite the growing interest in electric vehicles in general, the company faces a demand problem that goes beyond the model change. In Norway, for example, while the electric vehicle market has grown by 21%, Tesla’s sales have decreased by 48% during the same period.
The data is not positive for the future of Elon Musk’s company
This suggests that, although competition in the electric car sector is increasing, the American brand may be losing ground to new entrants in the market.
Additionally, the change in incentive policies and the political intervention of Elon Musk have created a controversial context that may be affecting the brand’s perception in the region. The statements and actions of the CEO have generated mixed opinions, which possibly influences the purchasing decisions of European consumers.
The figures are clear; in the first two months of 2025, the drop in sales has been 46%. Meanwhile, Tesla’s main markets in Europe, Germany and the United Kingdom, have not yet reported their figures, which adds uncertainty about the company’s future situation.
The combination of the launch of the new Model Y, increasing competition in the electric vehicle segment, and brand perception issues presents a significant challenge for Tesla in Europe.
