Last year we bid farewell in style to a series that has made its mark. Succession, the original HBO fiction starring Brian Cox, came to an end leaving behind a trail of successes and records that few series will be able to match. However, the mourning will be short-lived… or at least that’s what Netflix wants with its next proposal.

Legacy is the upcoming original series from the streaming platform from Spain. The creator is Carlos Montero, whom we know well thanks to Élite and The Mess You Leave Behind. And the truth is that the premise is quite reminiscent of Succession: after two years on sick leave, a businessman tries to redirect his family business after his children took it down a path he deeply hates.

The series features a luxury cast. José Coronado is the protagonist, and joining him are none other than Belén Cuesta and other actors such as Diego Martín, Natalia Huarte, Gustavo Salmerón, Nico Romero, Iván Pellicer, María Morera, Mireia Portas, and Susi Sánchez. All of them have an impressive resume in high-level Spanish series, and with Legado, they aim to bring their next big hit to the general public.

The directors joining the team of writers Carlos Montero, Breixo Corral, and Pablo Alén are Eduardo Chapero-Jackson, who has already worked on Netflix productions such as Élite and Sky Rojo, and Carlota Pereda, who has worked on Todas las veces que nos enamoramos and the successful film Cerdita.

According to the official synopsis, Legado follows Federico Seligman (Jose Coronado), who retires from his communication companies to recover from an illness that has kept him on the sidelines for two years. Upon his return, he will discover that his children have become strangers and are taking the business in a direction he detests. Federico will do everything imaginable to prevent his children from destroying his legacy.
