Many people are being surprised by a series with a classic feel, but with a modern script. X-Men ’97 is a Marvel series that continues a cult animated series from the 90s, and it seems to be a tremendous success.

According to Disney, this is the premiere of the first season of a long-running animated series with the highest viewership since the premiere of “What If…?” by Marvel in 2021, placing X-Men ’97 ahead of series like Iwájú and The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.

Animated shorts, such as Star Wars: Visions, I Am Groot, and Zootopia+, are excluded from this count, so we don’t know if they have performed better or worse.

What is X-Men ’97 about

X-Men ’97 is the continuation of X-Men: The Animated Series, which aired on Fox Kids from 1992 to 1997. The new series follows the X-Men through new challenges after the loss of their leader, Professor Charles Xavier.

The series has been well received, with a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and critics say that the series “devotes its energies to doing right by an object of nostalgia while introducing it to a new audience,” for whom it “can take bigger and wilder twists in its story, remaining true to the fantastical nature of comic book writing while not neglecting the emotions of the characters.”

We don’t know what you’re waiting for to watch this wonderful series. It will be like traveling to your childhood, but without leaving home.
