The game Schedule 1 has burst onto the Steam platform as an unexpected phenomenon, reaching over 450,000 simultaneous players in a short period of time. This independent production, developed entirely by Tyler TVGS, immerses players in the dark world of drug trafficking, blending elements of strategy, management, and street tensions. The impressive number of users has established Schedule 1 as a prominent representative of the drug trafficking simulation genre in early access.
The future of Schedule I looks bright
During a recent stream, the creator of the title confirmed that the game will remain in early access for an additional period of two to three years, with the aim of polishing aspects of it and adding key functionalities. Short-term plans include the implementation of Steam Deck compatibility and the introduction of psychedelic mushrooms as a new tradable substance, depending on the voting and preferences of the community. This inclusion underscores the developer’s commitment to incorporating the voice of users in the direction of the game’s development.
However, the road to the final version is not without challenges. Tyler TVGS is facing a copyright infringement accusation from the creators of Drug Dealer Simulator, which could complicate the full release of the game. Despite this, TVGS has expressed its intention to continue working on Schedule 1 and its desire to hire an artist, a community manager, and a quality control manager, reflecting its ambition to enhance the player experience.
Players have also expressed their interest in features such as police raids and interactions with cartels, highlighting a strong connection between the community and the game’s development. With a clear roadmap and ongoing community support, Schedule 1 promises to evolve significantly in the coming years, offering a deeper and more polished simulation, with possible plans for expansion to consoles in the future.
