What will happen in the sixth season of The Crown?

The first thing we need to know is which part of Queen Elizabeth II’s life will The Crown cover. Considering that the queen passed away on September 8, 2022, we already know when her story will end. However, the series will conclude before depicting all of this, reaching its finale in the upcoming episodes.

Roughly, each season of The Crown has portrayed a decade of the monarch’s life, and the fifth one concludes with Tony Blair taking office as Prime Minister in 1997. This means that the sixth season will depict events in the queen’s life from the mid to late 1990s to the 2000s.

Considering that in the last season, the death of Lady Di in 1997 has already been covered, we will also see what happened afterward and how Queen Elizabeth handled the campaign against her that occurred after the incident. And perhaps, we might see a tribute to the queen to celebrate her conclusion.

The cast of the sixth season of The Crown

In the new season of The Crown, Imelda Staunton will once again don the crown as Queen Elizabeth. Jonathan Pryce will also reappear as her consort, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Elizabeth Debicki as Lady Di, and Dominic West as Prince Charles of England.

Other new characters joining the cast include Ed McVey and Rufus Kampa as Prince Charles III in two different stages of his life, and Meg Bellamy as the highly anticipated Kate Middleton.

Release date of the sixth season of The Crown

Very soon, we will be able to see the conclusion of The Crown. As Netflix has announced, the first 4 episodes of this final season will arrive on November 16th. And the remaining six, which will serve as the series finale, will be released for Christmas: on December 15, 2023.
