Google has taken a step forward in its Messages application, which is the one that manages SMS and other traditional messages that are sent through this system. Now, taking a step that did not exist before, users will be able to open the camera from within the application to take momentary photos and send them through Messages without the need to exit the app.

However, if you expect the camera to be exactly the same as the one in your mobile camera app, you may be a little disappointed, as the camera functions it offers are much simpler and limited than those offered by any camera app on today’s smartphones. Therefore, it can be useful in a pinch, but don’t expect various photographic modes, let alone anything more.

Photos directly from the Messages app

As 9to5google has reported, the Google Messages app is already being tested in a beta version where a new feature will allow users to open the camera from within the application to take instant photos. It will have a simplified interface compared to the camera app, but it will offer a useful service for those who want to take a quick photo from within the Messages app.

Google is a company that has shown certain problems in recent months regarding layoffs, but still has a large number of employees and, despite this, they continue to work to offer innovations and improvements to users who use Google services.

Google and its essential mobile services

One of the biggest advantages of being a provider of your own operating system is that you can develop various specific basic applications for your users. An example of this is what Google does with Android, where many of the basic applications of the ecosystem are developed by themselves. However, when companies design their customization layer, it can come with these services duplicated, giving users the possibility to choose the one from the developer they consider appropriate.

Google Messages, like this, is one of those applications, but there are others that have similar features. The same happens with the Contacts application, with the gallery or photo application, with which users can choose to use one of them, or both, if they consider it appropriate. With this, Android is shown as a mobile operating system that offers many customization options.
