The New Mazda EZ-60: A Stylish Competitor to the Tesla Model Y

Mazda has made waves in the electric vehicle market with the unveiling of its new EZ-60 SUV, a stylish model that shares its size with the Tesla Model Y.

Announced on Thursday, the EZ-60 is set to be sold globally and is regarded as a “dream car” developed in partnership with Changan Mazda, signifying a significant stride in Mazda’s new energy strategy following the launch of the EZ-6 electric sedan last October.

Built on Changan’s EPA1 platform, the EZ-60 is expected to mirror the specifications of its sibling model, the Deepal S07 crossover SUV, which features a robust 79.97 kWh battery offering a WLTP range of 295 miles.

Introducing the EZ-60: Mazda’s Stylish New Electric SUV with Impressive Range and Fast Charging

Fast charging capabilities allow the vehicle to charge from 30% to 80% in just 35 minutes, appealing to the fast-paced lifestyle of modern drivers. With dimensions of around 4,750 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, the EZ-60 positions itself firmly in the competitive compact SUV segment.

Aesthetically, the EZ-60 incorporates Mazda’s “Soul of Motion” design philosophy, characterized by a full-length light bar, slim LED headlights, and a redesigned logo. Remarkably, the SUV introduces an innovative D-pillar air duct design that enhances aerodynamics while maintaining a sleek profile.

While details on the interior remain forthcoming, Mazda has hinted it will share features with the EZ-6, likely including a 14.6-inch infotainment screen and a 10.1-inch driver display, along with luxurious zero-gravity reclining seats and a 50-inch virtual head-up display.

The official debut of the EZ-60 is slated for April 23 at the Shanghai International Auto Show, where more details and visuals are anticipated. As electric vehicle technology continues to evolve, the EZ-60 will undoubtedly be one to watch in the global market.
