Microsoft is preparing major news for Xbox, with the launch of important projects such as Forza Horizon 6, Fable, and Gears of War: E-Day expected in 2026. The Redmond company plans a Developer_Direct to present details about these games, which has generated great anticipation among the gaming community.
A year full of news
One of the most notable innovations on the horizon is the introduction of a free ad-supported plan for Xbox Cloud Gaming. This service will allow users to play for one hour per session, with a maximum of five hours per month, all in exchange for viewing ads. This strategy appears to be in internal testing, which includes around two minutes of advertising before accessing a game.
Tom Warren, journalist from The Verge, noted that the Xbox app has received an update that includes messages related to this new gaming option, reinforcing the information that the free model is on the way. The first tests are expected to be carried out with members of the Xbox Insider program to fine-tune the final details of the implementation.
It is important to highlight that this new plan will not offer access to a catalog comparable to that of Game Pass. According to Warren, users will only be able to enjoy games they have already purchased, titles available in the Free Play Days initiatives, and selected classics from Xbox Retro.
Although there is still no official announcement, everything indicates that Microsoft is close to revealing its strategy for Xbox Cloud Gaming. The clues provided suggest that changes should not take long to arrive, offering players new ways to take advantage of Xbox cloud in the coming months.
