Many new players have started to get hooked on the Resident Evil saga thanks to its remasters; others still remember that first game on the PlayStation. Both are interested in this new twist in the Resident Evil story that could be underway, as a recent ESRB rating suggests that Resident Evil 5, a game originally released in 2009, is on track to receive a new remastered version. This title, which moved away from the horror-focused approach of its predecessors, focused more on action and cooperative gameplay, allowing players to control Chris Redfield and the rookie Sheva Alomar.

Despite the fact that Resident Evil 5 has received multiple re-releases in the past, these have mostly been considered simple ports rather than significant remasters. Most of those versions included additional content, such as the DLC Lost in Nightmares. However, the new offering seems to emphasize improving graphics and performance on next-gen consoles, specifically mentioning the Xbox Series. It is also expected to be available for the PlayStation 5.
Fans of this iconic video game series, known for its blend of horror and action since its first release in 1996 by Capcom, are on the lookout. This remaster is expected to offer visual improvements that could attract both new players and those who enjoyed the title at its launch. Although rumors are circulating about a possible remake of Resident Evil 5, for now it seems that this will only be a new version of the original game.
With the growing popularity of cooperative games and the success of previous remasters in the series, the return of Resident Evil 5 in this updated form could be well received. We will be on the lookout for future official announcements from Capcom to learn more details about this anticipated remaster.
