The Walking Dead ended on November 20, 2022 after a whopping 11 seasons and 177 episodes. But, despite the series providing a platform for all kinds of stories and characters, it still left some plotlines unfinished, and among them, the story of Rick and Michonne stands out. These main characters did not bring their storylines to a close.

On February 26 of this year, the two most important protagonists of The Walking Dead have returned, and they have done so with The Ones Who Live, a new AMC+ series that tells everything that has happened to them and that the fans of the zombie series were waiting to know.

Catching up with The Walking Dead

After the ninth season, Lincoln’s departure from The Walking Dead left fans of the series in suspense. Despite speculation about his imminent death, the truth turned out to be even more surprising: he survived a bridge explosion and was rescued by Jadis.

Now, in The Ones Who Live, the mysteries about the fate of the protagonists finally find answers. Clues scattered in previous productions like Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond, present the fascinating notion of the Civic Republic, an advanced civilization on Earth dedicated to restoring society for future generations. The mysterious Army of the Civic Republic also adds to the mystery.

Meanwhile, after Rick’s apparent disappearance, the tireless search led by Michonne and Daryl reveals an exciting revelation: a simple illustration on a phone, a tangible sign that Rick is still alive. Michonne embarks on a personal quest, leaving Daryl in charge of Judith and RJ, unleashing a new wave of emotions and adventures in The Walking Dead universe.
