These 8 Xiaomi phones won’t update to HyperOS 3: Is yours on the list?

Xiaomi is getting ready to launch its most important software update yet, with HyperOS 3 expected to arrive in October 2025. However, not every device that upgraded to HyperOS 2 will make the jump. The company has officially confirmed that 8 phones won’t receive the next update, leaving many users wondering if they’re affected.

The affected models won’t go beyond HyperOS 2

Xiaomi has recently completed the rollout of HyperOS 2, but some phones are now reaching the end of their software support. Among them are several members of the Mi 11 family, which, despite their solid performance, have been on the market for around four years. Xiaomi is shifting its focus to version 2.1 for the remaining eligible devices, while also preparing for HyperOS 3 development.

The phones confirmed to stay on HyperOS 2 are:

• Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE

The decision affects both premium and mid-range models, including the Mi 11 Ultra and the budget Redmi 10 5G. These devices are all entering the final stretch of their software life cycle, which aligns with Xiaomi’s support policies.

HyperOS 3 will be widely available

Still, this doesn’t mean HyperOS 3 will be limited. Xiaomi is expected to release two versions: one based on Android 15 for mid- and high-end phones, and another on Android 16 for its newest flagships. This dual approach aims to optimize performance across a broader range of hardware.
