Smartphone manufacturers are increasingly having trouble convincing their customers to upgrade their phones. How many times have we heard a friend with the iPhone 14 Pro say that there’s nothing encouraging them to upgrade to the iPhone 16. And the same goes for Samsung and Xiaomi.

Apple intends for the ultra-thin iPhone to cost less than the iPhone Pro models. To achieve this, it will use a simpler camera system and forgo some of the more advanced features of the Pro models.
What the iPhone 17 Air and the supposed foldable iPhone will be like
This portable device is supposed to be the previously rumored iPhone Air 17. Mark Gurman, Apple expert from Bloomberg, wrote that the iPhone Air will be about 6 mm thick. That is more than 2 mm thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro (8.3 mm), and even thinner than the thinnest phone in Apple’s history: the 2014 iPhone 6 at 6.9 mm.
The WSJ also reports that Apple continues its preparations to enter the foldable market, long after Samsung found success with its Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series.
For a long time there have been rumors that Apple is developing what could be called the iFold, a foldable iPhone. The latest report claims that Apple is also working on a massive foldable iPad, something we had heard before.
The foldable iPad sounds especially interesting. It is believed to be the size of two regular iPad Pros side by side when unfolded, so the device could be similar to a portable monitor.
According to reports, Apple is also working to ensure that foldables do not have a noticeable crease on the screen, something that continues to deter potential foldable buyers.
It is clear that the arrival of AI is not a feature that boosts iPhone sales, and Apple wants to try other things with the aim of selling more.
