This year’s CinemaCon has come with dozens of announcements from the major studios. The convention has served to showcase the trailer for Joker: Foliè a Deux and the new look of Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine, in addition to featuring a major panel by Paramount where the studio has announced everything that is coming.

Beyond an adult movie of The Ninja Turtles and the long-awaited crossover between Transformers and G.I. Joe, Paramount has announced the reboot of Scary Movie, with a sixth installment that will focus on current horror films. Interestingly, this same weekend is the last one in which you can find the original Scary Movie films on Netflix.

A saga that should have never ended

Scary Movie is a franchise that started in 2000 and had five installments until 2013. In all of them, the premise was to satirize horror movies from both their respective eras and the classics, as well as some other nods to films like Black Swan or Matrix. With a raunchy American humor in the style of American Pie, they managed to captivate millions for years.

Now that their new movie has been announced by Paramount, it’s the perfect time to remember why we liked them so much back in the day. Thanks to any Netflix subscription, you can enjoy them until April 15th. So, if you want to spend the weekend laughing at horror, there’s nothing better than having a marathon of these five great movies.

Although not much information is known about the sixth installment, it is expected that the reboot will draw from recent horror films, such as M3GAN, Midsommar, Get Out or A Quiet Place. We will see what surprises they have in store for us.
