Something we wouldn’t have expected not too many years ago is that the Ninja Turtles would become relevant in the world of comics. In addition to reprinting the original comics and having a modern collection that can compete in quality with the best of Marvel and DC, one Ninja Turtles title in particular has managed to create a sensation among fans and non-fans alike. One that, moreover, has today been officially announced to have a video game adaptation.

THQ Nordic has announced that it is developing an adaptation of The Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin. Showing a very brief trailer, where you can see nothing more than the title itself, some candles going out and a very Japanese style, they wanted to leave us with long teeth.

Fortunately, that’s not all we know. Particularly since the comic has achieved great popularity since its release. In a dystopian future, three of the four ninja turtles have died and the survivor, dressing and arming herself as a ninja, decides to take revenge on those who have murdered her brothers and brought the world to the brink of collapse. Scripted by Kevin Eastman, Tom Waltz and Peter Laid, and drawn by Esau Escorza, Isaac Escorza, Ben Bishop and Kevin Eastman, this is a dark, hard-boiled comic that bears many similarities to the original Ninja Turtles comics. All this in five issues, compiled in a single volume published in Spain by ECC.

We also know a few details about the game. It will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. It will closely follow the story of this surviving ninja turtle seeking revenge in war-torn New York and the game will be a third-person RPG action game inspired by the two most recent titles in the God of War franchise.

Does all this sound good? Well, we have some bad news. Don’t expect it to come out soon. The game still has a few years to go before its release, something that is confirmed by the total absence of any kind of date in the trailer. Something that leaves us with long teeth and eager to sink our teeth into this game that promises to give much to talk about in the future.
