Stay Connected Anywhere: Threads Announces Upcoming Desktop Release

Threads, the Twitter clone version created by Meta from Instagram, continues to work on expanding its horizons. As part of their efforts, their new goal is to develop a desktop version of Threads. With a significant number of users already gained in its first month, the focus is now on retaining them by providing a more cross-platform experience.
Threads app was launched last June at a delicate moment for Twitter, whose business model, led by Elon Musk, has been unpredictable with decisions like a radical rebranding of Twitter or limiting certain features, such as Direct Messages, to paid users only.
Competing on computers against Twitter
Threads was clear about starting the competition against Twitter through mobile apps, which, after the significant digital transformation they have undergone in society, aggregate the vast majority of digital traffic in the world. This phenomenon is even more evident in the case of social media platforms. However, as Adam Mosseri admitted in Threads, the web version is already in the works.
On the other hand, it seems that the Threads app for iPhone on Mac encountered certain stability issues and has been disabled. According to Threads developers, they have encountered some problems and errors in the Apple ecosystem, which means the development of this service will take a bit more time, particularly for Mac computers. If they don’t fix it soon, they will have to settle for the desktop version when it becomes available.

Threads still not available in Europe
Threads has certainly been making waves as it poses one of the biggest challenges to Twitter since its inception. However, it is not yet officially available in the European Union due to privacy regulations that need to be adapted to comply with local laws. This is why Threads is not widely discussed in Spain and other EU countries.
Despite its official unavailability, some users may try to download the app through unofficial means. However, unless you can bypass all of Meta’s controls, it is likely that you won’t be able to actively use Threads until the app’s situation in Europe is properly regulated and compliant with privacy laws.
