Toyota and Lexus are conducting a recall of 40,922 vehicles due to a possible defect in the seat belts.
This recall includes models such as the 2025 Toyota Camry, which has received an extensive update to its hybrid system, as well as the hybrid versions of the 2024-2025 Lexus NX and RX models. It is important to note that the NX 450h+ and RX 450h+ versions are not included in this recall.
The problem lies in the seat belts in the center of the second row, which may have been damaged during the manufacturing process at a supplier.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation (NHTSA), these damages were caused by the use of incorrect tools during a cutting process. The fusion marks found on some belts led to the conclusion that they do not meet federal safety standards.
In the event of an accident, the malfunction of these seatbelts may prevent individuals from being properly secured, thus increasing the risk of injury. Although Toyota has not confirmed whether there have been reports of injuries related to this issue, the company identified the defect during a routine inspection of the parts.
The Toyota and Lexus dealers will be responsible for inspecting and replacing the affected seat belts at no cost. The company plans to start informing owners about this situation beginning March 24, using informational emails.
Owners who want more information can contact Toyota’s customer service at 1-800-331-4331, referencing recall numbers 25TA03 and 25LA03.
