What would you do if you met your past self? Surely you would have many things to tell him/her and many events to warn him/her about. Fortunately or unfortunately, until someday we figure out how to time travel (if we can, that is), it’s a possibility we’ll never get to live. Or at least not completely.

An augmented reality filter from TikTok is the sensation of the moment. Why? For making you look like a teenager again. The filter shows you yourself in duplicate: on the one hand, the “real you,” and on the other, the “past you,” with much smoother, smoother skin and a much more youthful look (obviously, it won’t do anything if you’re still a kid). And all this instantly.

What, a priori, might seem like a simple rejuvenation filter as the classic included in photo apps, has stirred the feelings of many users of the social network of short videos that, before its last version, have returned to witness the appearance with which they saw themselves in the mirror several years ago.

This is the case, for example, of the TikTok user @thecaribbeanpearl, who in a video that already has more than 500,000 views and more than 10,000 likes is surprised by her rejuvenated appearance and even touches her face, incredulous at what her own eyes see. Something shared by some of the people who responded to her video and who also tried the augmented reality filter: “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen her”, comments one of the users.

But not everything is so emotional on TikTok. As is the case with almost every social network fad, other people have jumped on the bandwagon just for the laughs. While some just joke about the results of the filter, commenting that as teenagers they didn’t have such smooth, acne-free skin (something many of us suffer from), others just make fun of the “dramatic” reactions they see.

Would you like to try this eye-catching filter and “go back in time”? Whether you want to try this or any other of TikTok’s many filters and effects, it is important to note that the company itself assures that it does not store or collect your biometric data, so you can rest assured in this regard.
